Triangular Water Pavilion

Elevated upon a basin of water, two walls of two-way mirror glass and a wall of water enclose the perimeter of an equilateral triangle. Approaching visitors prompt the descent of the water wall through the activation of a sensor, gaining access to the enclosed space. Upon entry, visitors find themselves surrounded by water and reflective glass, cut off from the exterior by the resurgence of the water jets. The glass walls, appearing simultaneously transparent and reflective from both sides, create a layered visual effect. As the two mirror walls simultaneously reflect each other as well as the water, visitors and surroundings, views between interior and exterior seem to visually dissolve. The interior lighting conditions significantly influence the intensity of the reflections, while enlarging the basic triangular shape and creating a new visual space.
